Pete makes a debut

I received a text last night.  This was all it said:

Pete has mentioned writing a blog once or twice.  Then a couple weeks ago he told me he actually started one but wasn't sure about it's future.   I think he was also a little nervous about sharing it with me.  (Or anyone for that matter.)

But it was all him.  That's right folks, no co-dependent persuading or pressuring from this girl.

He has only written two posts, but I loved them.  Despite my obvious bias, it just feels good to see him be vulnerable and totally honest.

I think he is still a little unsure about the whole thing, and if he'll have time to keep it up, but we'll see where it goes...

  2. Yay! Finally we get more guys out there getting their thoughts on paper (on the screen?). I wish him luck. I am sure he is already doing positive things with recovery. I'm no expert by ANY means. I actually hope to learn from him. I need the help...

  3. I read every single word your husband wrote. It was sooo refreshing to see it from an addict's perspective. I know there are other blogs out there by men, but reading yours & now his is just incredibly inspiring & give one reason to hope - which honestly - I have been struggling with lately.

I would love to comment on his blog but hesitate - do you think it would be okay.

    1. I do think it would be okay. I think all of us need encouragement, and it's always nice to know when people are reading.

  4. Love it! What a great opportunity for him to write out his thoughts, and reach other men going through the same thing! I will be reading, and I'll forward the link to my husband!
    Thanks!
